I just read David's post here about his kit-built Ferrari from a Starter kit. Wow! So I looked into my own stache of unbuilt kits. Nope! No Starter and not even a single Ferrari. But I did find this one: (Click on pictures to enlarge.)
I'm a little leery when the directions include, "Drill out body for lamps, horns, and retaining screws. . . " Then I remembered that I've never even heard of a 1936 Tatra 77a.
I posted my admiration for David's skills, but this David is just a little hesitant right now. Maybe my kit needs to mature a little more before I start.

Hi David,
I built this Tatra 77A as one of my early builds. I painted it light blue which matched one that I actually drove. At Carmen, Manitoba, just north of the North Dakota border in the 1980s was a gentleman ( I lost his name) that provided WWII warplanes and vehicles. He and his workmen were quite receptive to visitors. He had a running Tatra 77A and I was able to circle his storage barn three time behind the wheel. Quite an experience.
I traded the model some time ago but I do remember that it fitted together quite well although it did need trimming and sanding and a primer coat followed by two final coats. I did not use a final gloss coat as they are often problematic and usually yellow over time. I don't remember any drilling other than for fastening the base to the body.
Here is a short YouTube feature on this unique Czech rear engine car.
I still have over 40 unbuilt kits, mostly Jaguars, sports cars and race cars. I only have one unbuilt Auto Replica kit left, an ERA. I'm still building but only a few a year.
Many thanks for the video, David. Now at least I know what the finished model should look like. Good to hear that you're still building. I wonder if we could convince this good site to give us a "Builder's Forum"?
An interesting story and photos on the Tatra. A southern California cousin, and car collector, owned one of these a few years back but after sorting it out and driving it for while found it not to his liking so sold it for IIRC $130k on Bat, just what he had paid a few years earlier.
