A 1:43 sized mystery: Can anyone identify a manufacturer/producer of white metal models? The company's name was "P" Models, sometimes just P Models. The country of origin was Switzerland. The only date I can find is 1972. Here is my kit, recently acquired through eBay:

I have recently seen two other "P" models for sale, one in the kit and the other completed, both being models of the 1931 Mayback Zeppelin. None was in a factory box, and both were in clear plastic bags with an attached identification notation very similar to mine, as shown in the picture above.
Any information would be appreciated.

Just a wild guess here is maybe Plumbies in their infancy? Later they became the beginning of Minichamps and we know where that went. Just don't light a match.

P models
P models , Peter Ottenheimer , I think from Switzerland ,his name is written on the plastic bag header , probably his signature .From memory he produced a few different models ,I think they may have been produced for him by John Day

Once again my old Ma Collection reference provides some answers.
Yes, these were done for Peter Ottenheimer of Zurich. Three models are listed by Michel Sordet. The 1938 Mercedes 170V (your model David) appeared in 1973, In 1974 a 1938 Adler Trumf Junior sedan appeared. The third listed (from 1975) is a 1931 Maybach Zeppelin touring car, cast with an erected top. Sordet states the production was 400 of each, with John Day casting the first two and Barry Lester (Auto Replicas) doing the Maybach.
Sordet states the Mercedes kit was sought after, but a few years after that was printed the old Vitesse company, while still in Portugal, brought out a 170V so I'm sure demand for the John Day-era kit declined. And more recently Neo and Schuco have made various versions.

Gentlemen, I thank you. Once again the Forum 43 membership has "filled the gaps" in my knowledge (and there are many!). Some time in the near (?) future here, I hope to display the completed Mercedes, and I am looking forward to working with Mr. Peter Ottenheimer's production of this John Day model. Onward!
