I am in bidding on several 1:43 models at the moment and I have very little knowledge about two makers: Landsdowne and MPH, the latter I assume is a maker as it is the only information provided by the person who is selling the models - one who is very frugal with his words, as I found out when messaging him/her.  It is a French seller and as his/her language is one of the most beautiful I had thought he/she might be more prone to elaborating, rather than providing a terse, two-word response.  The British part of my ancestry does have Great Expectations, I guess.

Anyway, I could use some guidance before I go in too deep.  I know my range for Minichamps, Matrix, GLM, but with Landsdowne and MPH I am lost.  Any advice would be welcome.  I am including images of some of the items I will be/am bidding on.  The MPH is the last image in the row.

Lansdowne (without the 1st d) is well know sub-brand of Brooklin Models, basically their British models.  Made in England. They are very heavy white metal, so the older ones are a lot like older Brooklins:  not as detailed as newer GLM or Matrix but very charming.  The current production is at Brooklin's website and are more detailed but also models of more modern cars.  The photos are small and very dark so it hard to see if they are missing any little parts.  Some of them look like they have their original boxes.

MPH are probably resin and much more limited production than Lansdowne.  See https://www.hobbydb.com/marketplaces/hobbydb/subjects/mph-models-brand for photos and https://www.maronline.org.uk/obituary-tim-dyke/ for background.  A poor photo again so its hard to tell what shape its in....

Good luck - let us know what happens!

Thank you and I am holding onto the reins a bit, because of the seller's decision to post nothing but dark photos, when in this day and age there is no shortage of lightbulbs.  I did ask about the lack of a radiator ornament on a Minichamps Bentley Corsica, but the response was the very definition of taciturn and even asking for him/her to elaborate, I got nothing.  He has 100% feedback for a large number of sales, but I am still being careful.

Is there a general price range for Lansdowne models?

I used to have a few of Tim Dyke's detailed models, all of which at the time were Provence Moulage resin kits built with additional details. They were certainly superbly detailed but my models had a somewhat low-luster paint finish. Soon after, Spark, Minichamps, etc. brought out all their Le Mans cars and I sold off my MPHs.

The Embiricos Bentley has been made in its various versions by Lansdowne and Spark, probably others.
