Some years ago Franklin Mint did a series of 1:43 models. Some were well done. Some looked a bit out of shape and had wide shut lines. One that really hit the mark, however, was the ‘58 Chevrolet Corvette. I acquired it many years ago. I have included a couple photos of the actual Corvette to show the comparison of the model to the actual car.

It looks great ! The black color fits it very well and FM did a good job on this one. Of course, it is a Corvette and that automatically makes it a winner !
Nice ‘53, Frank. And for that first year you could could have any color your wanted as lon as it was Polo White.

@cfcooper Yes, that's right! About 100 years ago I did a quickie wheel swap on mine and haven't touch it since. If you'll forgive this terrible pic.... here it is. 🙄
I guess I've not heard of this '58, or completely forgotten about it. I have the three collections of the 50s & 60s FM issued, as David said, some good-some not so much. I am guessing this was a separate release, as I do know they did that too. I have a couple. The '58 is my favorite Vette of the 50s, so I might have to go looking for one of these.

The black/silver 1/1 car pictured is a 1961 rather than a 1958. The FM model is fairly nice for the time.
@bob-jackman Franklin Mint came out with a few special models after releasing the “Classic Cars of the Fifties” series.
here are a couple I purchased.
The first is the 57 Chevy, and my second is the 58 Corvette. I received them directly from Franklin Mint when they were first released. I consider both as very special to my collection. Back then having 24 cars was having a real collection and spending $59.95/car was quite a bit in the 1980’s.
