Maybe. But probably not. In 1932 Tootsietoy launched its
Funnies Set (no. 5091) with six models taken from American newspaper comic cartoons: One of them was Smitty on a motorcycle with Herbie in the sidecar. And a "played with" version 2 is in the picture. Whee!
