After years looking for one of these I recently acquired this Temple and Sons Fresh Produce Canopy Express. Just like it. Reminds me of the older Italian man and his truck pedaling produce in Palo Alto, Ca. in the fifties and sixties when I was growing up.

Terrific model Curtis. Back in the forties and early fifties we used to have a husband and wife who came down our street in St. Louis County selling vegetables from their small truck farm. Thanks for the wonderful memories.

Nice find Curtis. This was the very first version of the Chevrolet Canopy Express with only 100 issued. I'd love to have it too.

This lovely model reminds me of the Chinese vegetable merchants back in the day.  I regret not getting this one.

@bob-jackman  These are so rare (and expensive) I may just have to just make one.  Stay tuned.

@david-green Thanks for the info David. I knew the model seemed scarce but I didn't realize that they only made 100.

@bob-jackman  I to think it's great that some of these models evoke such pleasant memories.

Thanks for the good pictures and the post, Curtis.  While I have several Durham Classics (and like them!), I missed this Chevy.  It reminds me of this somewhat similar Ford:
