What a wild and wonderful weekend, filled with personal ups and downs that all ended on a high note (Hint: Hunting for elusive models is easier to do when not in the midst of passing a kidney stone!) Here's my summary...
You've probably already seen John's video recap from Auburn. If not, go check it out. It was a great way to kick off the weekend touring the famous Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum. We all spent a little time going from car to car trying to remember if we had a model of that one.
Saturday was the 1/43rd show put on by Jeff Lane. There was a LOT of activity at this show and it seemed there were sellers ready to sell and buyers ready to buy.
Dave Gilbert (Toy Car Geek) and Tom Dirnberger (special runs of GLM) talk shop
Skip Johnson and Karl Schnelle answer questions at the Brooklin table
Checking out the variety of stuff at Toy Car Geek
Host Jeff Lane previews some of his new models
Jack Sakowicz checks out some of the models offered as Frank Racibozynski thins out his collection (yes, I got a few, too, as did Buz Kirkel!)
Mikhail Bashmashnikov had some really unique and hyper detailed models to preview
Using the original German blueprints, check these out!
Here's one that Mikhail is working on himself...
And an early look at this!
Jim Cowen from Automodello was there, as was Greg Gunn, and Albert Kopans from Canada.
Kelly Kuvakas drafted Randy Schultz to record her interviews on the floor. Here she talked to Dave Gilbert and his wife.
As the show was wrapping up, Tom Kinney sought John Kuvakas' opinion on a very rare Motor City hearse in magneta that Albert was offering
And yes, when we all headed over to Tom's house, he had the new hearse ready to add to the impressive collection.
Well done, particularly for an ailing guy! Thanks, Randy!

Hello Randy! 🙂
Very nice animation...! Please, do you know how i could get the Ford Ranch Wagon in 2 tone green from Second City Motors?
@domi7777 Yes, you can reach Jeff at secondcitymotors@gmail.com.
@jkuvakas Mikhail looks very apprehensive; almost like someone off camera is holding him at gunpoint to pose for the pic......
@jack-dodds, "No dealers were harmed during the making of this video."

Oh boy, it looks like a great crowd and many wonderful model automobiles at this show ! I wish I could have stopped by, but I will try to be at the next upcoming one.
@jack-dodds Funny thing... he was joking with me right before I snapped the pic and then got super serious for the snap. Must be a Russian thing!
[MAR Online] Thanks, everyone, for putting the 1/43 weekend together! As always, it was great fun to see everybody. Here is one more writeup!
