Nice catch Frank. The colors suit this model to a tee.
Both look very nice. Thanks for sharing pictures.

The sole survivor from my toybox - with the scars to prove it - purchased for me in 1960,
when I was 9, and its descendent from England, purchased in 2018.

A memorable Dinky indeed. Mine too has a few early minor blemishes and has long lost its box, but I have had it since about 1960. Many of my early Dinky Toys got play use by my son so they have a second reason for sentimental attraction.
Thanks for the reminder and memories everyone.
I wonder if anyone has done John's psychedelic-painted Rolls-Royce in 1/43 ?
Yes indeed. True Scale Models did a 1:43 a few years ago. Not as restful on the eye as the old grey Dinky, I grant you, but it's very nicely done and I am happy to own one. Needless to say, people are now offering them online at anywhere between £200 and £400.

@graeme-ogg I have that as well. I had posted pictures of it and the George Harrison Mini on the old 1/43 Forum. Unfortunately, those pictures disappeared as pictures sometimes did then, and incredibly I didn't keep my copies of them. Too bad, because I had also included a Yellow Submarine in the pics.
@mg-harv when was the French one issued, before or after England?
