Just noticed that John Kuvakas sent a note about how to post a picture after I posted this
Much appreciated your posting this tribute David. My first experience with Dave S. was a very pleasant conversation and then purchasing a MiniMarque Packard from him. This broke through a price barrier for me and started me down a very expensive but fulfilling modeling road. Would post a picture if I could figure out how in this new format.
Here's the PIC, let's see if it worked. Thanks John for the tutorial.
Models = Miracles in miniature = Holding History in ones hand Cheers and Happy Collecting, Steve
Welcome back, Steve. Your good words about David S. will find much agreement here. I also like your Packard, but in particular I like the paint on your figure. Those of us who sometimes paint our little people know what's involved there; he is really well done and adds an extra dimension to a fine model. Good post!
As has been discussed not too long ago, Dave Sinclair was real pioneer handling white metal models. Dave often spoke to me about buying his business and my reply to him "I am one model at a time".
Actually, the first white metal models I recall being sold in this country were the Auto Replicas that Replicars or Lynn Becker were selling on the west coast. I need to dig out my monthly newsletters to find out just when that was, but I think 1973.
