I thought the problem of repeated logins and "recapcha" was well behind us, but suddenly I am being asked to login at least twice a week. I haven't had any Windows or browser updates which might have triggered this.

Even stranger, when I logged in a couple of minutes ago I got a request to "prove I am human". I was asked to give the answer to "10 + 5" and there was a scroll-down menu which presumably is meant to offer a list of possible answers, but it didn't actually show anything. So I ignored it and got logged in OK without proof of my advanced mathematical skills, but it is a pretty weird alternative to "recapcha" and I wonder why it has popped up now.

Next time around it might ask me to solve a quadratic equation or Fermat's last theorem and I could be a bit stymied.

Any other geniuses out there having to deal with the same problem?

Einstein

Perhaps you are much more intelligent than you thought you were and Legacy is attempting to 'ride your coat tails'.

I'm no genius but I have been asked to sign in a few times recently and prove that I was human....still wondering about that myself.

I use Chrome on a laptop and have not had that issue lately...   But then again, I am no genus and capcha knows it!  Razz

Well, the problem with an "entry test" of this kind is that some of us can grasp the basic concept but can only apply it in practice at a fairly modest level.

I've run into the very same problem. It seemed to begin, for me, when the auctions went live. I'll see if I can find out what happened. Fortunately, none of it seems to have kept me from signing in so far.

What exactly do you mean Graeme?

I meant exactly what I said and I thought the attached image made the point quite well.

Here is another example of an underlying concept being understood but being put into practice somewhat inexpertly . . .

Paper & scissors

Not confusing you at all, I hope?

I simply thought it was a ritual we had to do every time we wanted to post or reply.

Good heavens, David. Have you been doing this every time? It was a very frequent problem when the new Forum format started up, but for most of us logging in has become very infrequent (at least until the last few weeks. when it seems to have started pestering some of us again). At least the dreaded "recapcha" was disabled, but now the maths question has started appearing. Let's hope that is just another temporary quirk.

Like Karl I use Chrome. Logouts are relatively rare, usually when my computer locks up or closes Chrome for some obscure reason.
