The 1965 Griffith Series 200 with a TVR Grantura fiberglass body got the Shelby treatment at Griffith Motors Inc in Syosset, New York. Offering either the stock 190 HP Ford 289 or the 271 HP K-code Hi-Po 289. The car was ridiculously fast but hard to handle. These cars experienced the same problems early Cobras had: overheating and rear axle failure of the stock TVR differential. Owners wound up upgrading the cooling system and replacing the rear axle. Griffith almost sold its target of 200 cars. With the K-Code 289: 0-60 in 4.5 seconds and the 1/4 mile in 13.1 seconds. The humble TVR/Griffith got some outrageous modifications like this drag car:

What a nice model to own, in a limited edition somewhat smaller than the actual Griffith production. Interesting post that added nicely to my knowledge of the car. Thanks Rich.
