Which means I got some more model cars autographed! Knowing who would be there, I scoured my collection for cars driven by David Hobbs (this year's grand marshal), Jochen Mass, Brian Redman, and Linda Vaughn. Redman had to cancel since his Florida home was near Milton's path. And I only went on Friday and Sunday this year, so I didn't see Linda on Saturday. But I still got eight cars signed (six by Hobbs and two by Mass). This year's event was lower-key than in the past - no vintage racing (due to condo construction) and instead of a big Mecum auction over two days there was a more dignified auction of some very nice cars by Broad Arrow on Saturday.

So here are the Hobbs cars:

LookSmart LSLM020 Ferrari 512M and David Hobbs
Ixo LMC026 Ford GT Mk. I DNF LM68 No. 10 pic3
Minichamps 430 836511 Porsche 956L No. 11 LM83 pic3
Spark S4948 Lola Mk VI LM63 pic3
Spark S1582 BMW Hawaiian Tropic LM81 pic4
Spark S1971 Porsche 917K No. 22 LM70 pic4
David Hobbs with Jochen Mass signing model pic2

I should have taken a better shot on that last pic since I only got part of Jochen Mass in it. Anyway, here's my Mass cars:

Minichamps 430 786905 Porsche 936 78 No. 5 pic3
Thundersports LE4 Sauber C9 Mercedes 1st LM89 pic3

As for the real cars, there were dozens of standouts. I have over 150 pics yet to clean up, but here's a sampling:

Chrysler 300 F convertible pic1
Packard Model 904 sedan 1932
Alco racer 1909
Allard J2X 1952
Auburn Speedster 1932
Ferrari 375 1952 pic2
Isotta Fraschini Type 8AS pic1
Lamborghini Huracan Spyder pic2
Pierce Arrow Model 38 1916
Swallow Sidecar SS1 1935

The old racer is a 1909 Alco. I hope many of you recognize the Auburn Speedster - it was transported to the show from the ACD museum. The Ferrari 375 was loaned by the Indy museum and the Pierce Arrow is Wayne Carini's. The SS1 is technically a Swallow Sidecar product, before the Jaguar name was used for the SS100. My favorite has to be the Isotta Fraschini Type 8AS, it was gorgeous.

It must be great fun for drivers to be presented with model cars they raced, to be signed.  Of the 1:1s, my favourite would be the Isotta Fraschini too.  To me one of the most mythical of marques.

@charles-rockett They were very friendly and approachable. Hobbs had a story or two to go along with what he signed.

How wonderful! What a great day. Excellent signings and pics to go with them. I like your idea of signature placements! And, OMG, I totally agree - my favorite would be the Isotta Fraschini as well. I have long loved that car. And not sure that I have ever seen a 1:1 Auburn Speedster in black before. Thanks for sharing these fantastic pics Harv!

Well Harv, I appreciate that you have them sign something OTHER than the model.  It always irks me to see a signature on a roof or hood.  I have only a few signatures.... they signed the boxes.  😀 😎

@perrone1 Tony - Here it is at the A-C-D museum where several of us saw it in March. Plus a fuzzy report of a European trip made in 1933 by the Collier Brothers with this car.

Beelzebub the Boattail! OMG; I LOVE it! Thanks so much Harv, for unearthing the pics again. That devilish color on the Speedster is inspired!

I inadvertently posted the unsigned Gulf 917. Here it is signed.
