Another color question! I am looking for the correct red for the 1924 FIAT
Mephistopheles (or Mefistofele) as it was during the land speed record attempts on 6th and 12th July 1924.
I am assuming that the car, which was RED and NOT black as has been written erroneously in nearly every book on the subject, was painted in the then familiar "Rosso Corsa" or "racing red" which was the national racing color for Italy.
However, there have been a number of shades and hues of red used all called "rosso corsa". I am leaning to RAL 3020 or RGB 204, a somewhat darker red.
Does anybody have any ideas or information on this matter?
Anything would be helpful!
Thanks in advance!
I used rosso red on some Ferraris but the colour was to dark...
when using a grey primer. Now I use it on a white primer and it's okay now.
Maybe play with your primer colour to get the slight darker red you are looking for. I use Zero paints and on this brand the above works don't know for other brands.
