Another look at BRK 26, the '55 Nomad (pic)

Shel shared his fine Nomad as finished by Jacques Leroy and I really enjoyed it. This morning I pulled mine out of a display case where it has been for several years. Brooklin produced this model from 1987 through 1999, a long life. It still looks good, even with my minimal work on it "way back when."

But you'll notice I don't show the close up of my work the way Shel did of that of Jacque!

I think Brooklin's Nomad model still looks good and holds up well in competition with most modern production. I'm not looking for a replacement!

Mine, with no further detailing than when it came from the factory, is still one of my favorite Brooklin models. The casting is very accurate and the car just looks correct.

David and Jacques: great car, great photos! Thanks!

I planned on doing some photos of my own outside last night, but they turned out horribly. I actually have two cars arriving today as per the USPS tracking number, so I fully plan on going out later, once I get those cars, and trying again both with the four I tried yesterday evening and these two.

I'm sorry, but

I can't agree that this model "just looks correct". Looking at a photo of the actual car, the "greenhouse" is small, and the wheels are huge. This is seen on some other early Brooklin models (#s 11,19, 28, 30, 35 for example).

Joe H. The early Brooklins you mentioned all have charm of their own but the 55 Nomad is the best of all the 55 nomads made in 1:43 and was a step above the Motor city USA version.Looking at pictures does not tell the whole story.

I agree with you about the size of the wheels but not the size of the greenhouse.

As has been said before, the rest of the image is outstanding especially considering the age of the model. Suggest you look at the actual model rather than pictures. All of my Brooklins are keepers but this one is a standout.
