Another set of old photos found... pics and ?

You guys were great and ID'ed my dad's first work car - Pontiac Silver Streak Thank you so much!

I think I have a harder quiz now! I found these three cars recently in Cousin's Ed's boxes of photos. He told me the story about 2 of them before he passed away two years ago.

1974 Mercury Comet - his daily driver for 25 years!

1964 Porsche 356 - His close friend drove over to Louisville to show off his new purchase!

And my Grandfather next to his car. What is it?

Any 1974 Comet's out there in 1/43? There are plenty of red Porsche's!!!

I think your Grandfather is with a 1937 Chevrolet. (pic)

And Mercurys of that era are largely forgotten, with a couple of muscle car exceptions. Mine was a '67 Capri, the first new car I ever bought.

Thanks, Dave Dave Curtis! It is a 1936 Chevrolet Standard or Master DeLuxe...

based on the distinctive 2 ribs on the side of the hood. Not chromed so I am leaning to the Standard version! The body and wings looks pretty beat up to me, so i assume it was very used!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Karl, I believe that Porsche is earlier than 1964?

Might be! It might have been on the lot for a while and he bought it in '64.

I'm gonna guess that Porsche is a 1959 or earlier. In 1960 the 356B was introduced with a few design differences from this. Sad to say, there was a time when I could tell all of the Porsche years. And VWs too. And I'm not even German!
