I'm definitely more of a Coupe de Ville guy and agree that excessive trim can be gaudy at times but on this Caddy the sedan styling, skirts and trim looks perfect. I love the color of this example!
@jack-dodds, there is no universe where "excessive trim" and a car from the fifties are not synonymous.

It is a gorgeous 1958 Cadillac in a great color. I have a Yat Ming 1/18 convertible and a Matchbox 1/64 scale '58 Cadillac and I like them a lot.
@jkuvakas Oh, you are so right, John. The term "irrational exuberance" comes to mind.
@whodeytink, I agree. And I've come to love every one of them!

@jkuvakas Me too. Well, at least most of them.
In meridian taupe. LE of 70. Great color but I never liked all the excess trim on the lower rear fenders.
I wonder how long that trim held up in the "Rust Belt" states.
I have a soft spot for '58 Cadillac sedans (the first car I was ever in ) and yes, they're excessive but in 1958 America, "excess" was stylish.
The real story is just how fast tastes changed. Within a few years, these chromed, finned, monsters were dismissed as antiquated, bloated wrecks from a bygone era.
- It's a beautiful Stamp model though; the tires look a bit small (like modern radials ) - noticeable when compared to a GCI image - but still, it's a nice piece that "looks big" even in 1/43. 😀 😀
Ordered mine! I'm getting hooked on these extremely limited run models.
It looks fantastic, but as with the recently announced '62 green convertible, I am REALLY trying to limit myself to must-haves and since I already have 3 of these, I'll pass. I'll probably regret this decision later, but that's the way it goes sometimes.

....you guys have zero will power; you guys don't own Stamp. Stamp owns you! 😬 😲
