Sometime around 1984 (give or take) Porsche had somewhere around between 30 to 100 of these made and distributed to various Porsche dealers. It was modelled after the 1981 Le Mans winner, the Jules-sponsored Porsche 936 driven by Jacky Ickx and Derek Bell. As this was my one and only visit to the race, of course I had to have this model, a recent resin issue by Spark. The real ones had a Briggs & Stratton engine. Some had the authentic race number, '11', but they may have begun to run out of those decals and made a bunch numbered '1'. In 2025 one sold on BaT for close to $17K, and an untouched, unused one was up on ebay starting at $30K a while back. The other model is by Minichamps and the photo was by me.
French Dinky made a 1:43 go-kart more than 60 years ago; finding one today will set you back. Any others?
