Anyone in the U.S. order from Model Car World GmbH?

Just curious if any of you have ordered from this company/website. If so, approximately how long did it take to receive your order from the time it was shipped? I placed an order that was shipped on April 12 and I have not yet received it. Uncertain how long I should give it to arrive before becoming concerned. I hesitate ordering from them again until I receive my first order.

Couple of weeks. They are good to do business with.

Yes, I've a tracking number and the USPS site says...

"We have received notice that the originating post is preparing to dispatch this mail piece." It has given me this message for several days now.

The customer service rep. stated in an email on April 25, "It seems like since there are new rules for security with freight matters in the US it takes longer as usual."

In the 1960's I was buying models from all over Europe.

There were no tracking numbers then. Everything was shipped by sea mail, one month from Europe, two from Japan. But I never had a problem. And the cost was very low.

I'm concerned because I've bought...

models from sellers located in the U.K. and Hong Kong that were purchased AFTER this model was allegedly shipped and I've received them already. I've heard too many horror stories about customs agents taking or breaking contents. I guess I'll give this package until the end of the week - a month since it was shipped - and if I don't receive it I'll contact them to track it down.

Thanks to all who have replied.

I've ordered from them twice this year, and each time I received the shipment within 10 days (to Iowa).

Thank you, Chet. I have just sent them an email...

...asking to put a tracer on the package. I would like to buy additional NEO models from them, but not if I'm going to have issues receive my orders.

I bought the '72 Grand Prix Hurst SSJ but want to...

...order the green Gran Torino if I ever receive the Grand Prix.

Randy, why order from MCW and pay their shipping charges to the US?

Almost all the same models may be bought from American Excellence, Dominion Models and others, and often appear on our auction.

They were...

...the only retailer website I could find who had the Grand Prix Hurst SSJ. Who else carries the model-car.com limited editions? American Excellence does not seem to. I've only been buying the NEO models for a month now. Most of them have been purchased via a Hong Kong seller on evilBay who has been quite reliable. I've also purchased a couple from American Excellence. Only today did I learn about Diecast Direct.

I don't buy too many Neos because I prefer 1930's-50's cars.

I do have the Hurst Pontiac because I just liked its looks. I have also bought a number from several HK dealers and found them all quite reliable.

I have been very satisfied with GrandPrixModels in UK; shipping less than $10

Also a good source of detailing supplies and decals.

I have also. However, I am lucky to be able to ......

trade face to face with this company.
