Anyone know if the BRK 184 A 1947 Cadillac series 62 4D French gray on Seine Blue sedan has been painted in two different way?

That’s very interesting, Michel. I found this.

I didn’t realize Brooklin offered it both ways. I have only one and it’s the solid French Gray one.

According to the "Brooklin Models Collector's Guide", there were three versions; 184 was French Grey", 184A was Seine Blue, and the third was labeled "184" again but this one was Gunmetal Grey Metallic.

I haven't seen the blue one painted the way you show in the 2nd photo, but I have seen 1:1 painted in that way. They looked similar to the photo David posted, not like the 1st Brooklin model shown.

Regardless of how they are painted-this is a fabulous model which I have in all three colors Brooklin offered. Love it.

Good eye, Michel!  I wonder if a BRK assembly person made the modification.  Interesting. David H Surprised

That was the one in solid color that i wanted because i was not sure about the one in Blue and Gray. Buz instead sent me the Cadillac like the one at the right on those pictures. Exactly like the one that John has and like to one showed in the Brooklin models collectors guide. The picture that David Knight sent show the Cadillac painted like my picture at the right. I am just wondered if BRK has rectify the way that the Cadillac has been paint in first? Which one is painted the right way? Maybe Cadillac painted in the two ways i really don't know but that intrigate me. I just hoping that this is not like the BRK 1954 Chevy Handyman in two tone who has not been paint correctly and have been never rectify in my knowledge? I should maybe ask to Amanda or J.R. They should know. I will be surprise than the one at the right is a code 2 or 3. A code 1 produced in the factory seem more plausible i think? Whatever the most important is that i like my model. John i think you will recognize the first pic 😉

Well this is interesting. I did search for Cadillac sedans and I found photos with cars painted both ways. Very curious as to the why.  I have only seen one 1:1 of a '47 Cadillac sedan and it was painted the way the 2nd Brooklin example.

But either way, I like all the models.

@jcarnutz, I'm wondering if some colors combos were available on one series and others on another. It seems like there were two primary series, 62 and 75 (Fleetwood), both in a variety of body styles. Maybe some of you Cadillac guys can fill us in.
