Auto Buff made a number of Ford models including this 1929 Model A Ford Roadster. They were sold as a kit and as a built model. I dont know the correct term for a built model that was not factrory built, but built by a number of private model builders. A close friend built a number of Auto Buff kits that were sold by Auto Buff as built.

I do miss the car list we had with DCCC, so looking forward to its rerturn as my memory is foggy as to what all was produced by the various companies.

In a way, that's why I keep updating hobbyDB, as a record of all the great 1/43 models we all have or have seen!

Thanks for posting your good pictures of the Auto Buff Model A, Robert.  I hope to add a similar Model A to my Auto Buff models.  Yes, I also have read that  B.S. "Mac" McReynolds used several different methods to sell his 28 different white metal, 1:43 models (of a proposed 50, all Fords) of just about 50 years ago.  Some he directly was involved with assembling and some were distributed to experienced builder/ retailers. I have heard that one of these was Jerry Rettig, a well known builder who eventually became Enchantment Land Coachbuilders.   Other Auto Buffs were sold as kits.  I have posted pictures and a few comments here on my two Auto Buff Fords, but neither is a Model A.  I like yours, Robert.  Good for you!

@karl

Those Canadian dollars were worth about 80 cents American back in 1980. I have that Mini Grid issue. George Maxwell, owner of Mini Grid was a good friend.
