BOX No. 8401, 1962 Ferrari GTO with Renaissance wire wheel enhancement. made in Italy

My favourite Ferrari GTO is in 1/18 scale  by Kyosho.

I believe however that the best diecast in 1/43 scale is this 1962 Ferrari GTO, especially when enhanced with Renaissance wire wheels. The wheel set was about $20 at the time of purchase but makes a drastic difference to the model.

This is the first issue by Box which was in a non-window box attached to a cardboard base, not unattached in these pictures.

The later window box model on a plastic base seems to be a slightly different inferior casting. It is shown below.

I respectfully disagree. Kyosho made the best 250 GTOs in diecast, with engine detail.

@mg-harv

I have never seen the Kyosho in 1/43 scale. I do have it in 1/18 and think it is the best 250 GTO that I have seen.

OK, just found it on that other auction site. Rare and about $200 but it is definately better but at 4 plus times the price. Love to own it though.

@david-green They made four others David. I'm glad I bought them new. Wish they had kept going with other versions.
