This car finished in Evening Orchid is one of my favorites. Evening Orchid Poly was a one year only offering. I remember seeing this car at Wm B. Bull & Sons, our local Chevrolet dealer in Lenox, Massachusetts on introduction night. Those were the days when a small town could support a car dealership. Len Bull was an honest man who took care of his customers who came from all over to buy their Chevrolets. My dad traded every three years.

In these pictures it’s hard to tell the actual car from the Brooklin model.

Evening Orchard was only available on Super Sports either as an Impala or Malibu. Love the pictures.

The Evening Orchid is a great color, I added this model to my collection along with one in an Artesian Turquoise that I received from Randall Olson. They are both great models.

Lane issued a '65 Chevelle Malibu SS in this color too, it is 1:18 scale. The color looks great on it as well.

GM certainly had some beautiful colors offered in this era.  Mind you the stunning 65 Impala would suit almost any color.

Super nice model.  I'd love to add one to my collection someday.

I added this BRK model to my collection also. Here is a model kit at 1/25 that one of my friend has made. His model is painted with a the real automobile paint. I know this is not a 1:43 but just to compare with the kit to stick.

I've never known that.  I am not questioning your statement, but I thought I had seen a Caprice Sport Sedan as well as a Corvair.  Of course they could have been recolored.  I have read that more Evening Orchid and Iris Mist cars exist now than did in 1965.

I believe you are correct that this color was used on Corvair and Caprice in '65; but I wonder if they were special orders.  Not sure if you could actually place a special color order in '65.
