Ever since I purchased a set of Brooklin's Sinclair gas pumps, I have thought about adding a building to model a gas station.  After searching for built structures or kits, I decided my best course of action would be to build one from LEGOs.  My goal was to make a 1960's and 1970's style gas station as realistic as possible considering the physical constraints from the individual LEGO pieces.  LEGO has a very nice operating garage door perfect for 1/43 scale cars, which helped me make my decision.  The cars in the following pictures are the Brooklin 1957 Oldsmobile and Brooklin 1960 Cadillac.  The figures are from American Dioramas.  The first two pictures show the front exterior, and the third picture shows the brick detail in the back.

For the fourth and fifth pictures I removed the roof to show interior details.

I plan additional updates to the building, both exterior and interior.  The first will be to replace some of the green pieces used to make the stripes.  You may have noticed two different shades of green.  I used the parts I had, and new ones have been ordered.  I hope you enjoy the pictures.

@karl

The brick wall is made from LEGO parts called profile bricks, which have special patterns molded into the bricks.  I use the ones that more accurately depict bricks.

Yes, I can bring it to Jeff's show.  I just need someone to give me a little table space.

Fantastic Ed. LEGO is proving a very versatile tool for building a wide variety of stuff. This is the first period gasoline station that I have seen and I’m really impressed with your efforts.

@ed-davis

Beautiful !!  You might want to add a thin strip of black wire to replicate the 'ding-ding' ringer when we drove up to the pumps.

The station looks outstanding Ed. The Brooklin gas pumps and the building really compliment each other.

That station would go well with these two tanker trucks, a circa 1950 White and a 1956 Ford cabover.   The white an Atlantis kit and the Ford a Menards item.
