They are coming right along at their new home and factory !
I clicked on the Brooklin link John provided, and with just a few more clicks, I was buying the SMTS Parnelli Jones/Bud Moore 1969 Boss 302 Trans Am Mustang.
I have had this one on my shopping list for quite some time and I justified the purchase by cashing in the coupon code Brooklin sent me with my '46 Pontiac Torpedo purchase.Â
I already have a few of these Trans Am race cars by SMTS and they are very well done.
The cost was still under $200 including shipping charges, so these are a low buck option if you need to scratch that white metal model itch.
As John K. stated in his recent video, Brooklin and SMTS are now under the same umbrella and are the last ones standing for white metal models, so we must support them or we won't have them anymore, so if you are on the fence about one or more models from one of these companies, pull the trigger and buy yourself an early Christmas present.
(SMTS provides models to Buz for route 66)Â
Mine is an updated version that will come with Firestone white lettered tires.
@mg-harv Different front air dam, or a different race version? or just my eyes? 😉
@karl Beats me. These cars always had differences throughout a season - accident repairs and upgrades.
I have the Spark 1970 Parnelli #15........I held off getting the Spark 1969 car so I could order the SMTS version.
SMTS does a super job on these Trans Am cars Harv......do you have any of them?Â
I know you are a serious race car fan.
SMTS (and Mark at Replicarz with a resin version) was supposed to release a 2nd gen Mark Donohue AMC Javelin Trans Am model, but neither have been released to date.
These cars always had differences throughout a season - accident repairs and upgrades.
Brooklin states the same Harv......this is a little info they give on the page for the model.
Bud Moore provided Jones, Follmer and Unser with his red, black and white examples. Both teams hard fought each other up front all season often destroying cars in the process.
@ben-lampson Nope - don't have any, once Spark got into the act. Replicarz announced some 2nd Gen Javelin TransAm cars but they have yet to see light of day.
@ben-lampson and @mg-harv
Loved your Trans-Am discussion and pictures. Some of these cars ran right here at Continental Divide Raceway in the 1970's. (Castle Rock Colorado) Awesome Thunder. CDR closed ~ 1981.

Nice set of cars. I have a question on a related topic. Do you know if SMTS ever did a street version of the 1969 Mustang?

Do you know if SMTS ever did a street version of the 1969 Mustang?
Yes they did Ed....they also did a 1970.....both are Boss 302 cars, and coincidentally, they go by the brand name Boss models.
Buz at rt. 66 has them.
You can also get both years unfinished in kit form directly from SMTS.
Both pics are SMTS Boss 1969 Boss 302 cars.
ELMo models (BCC's Mo Brown) has a '68 Mustang in lime gold coming soon.Â
I am familiar with Boss. I have street versions of their 1970 Barracuda and 1970 Javelin.
