I'm no expert and have never seen the two cars in person but the shape of the BRK Pontiac so far reminds me a bit the MCUSA 1948 Chevrolet Fleetline.

Yup, they shared the same shape because.....

Chevrolet=General Motors

Pontiac=General Motors

I found this '46 Pontiac with the same 2 tone paint as the Brooklin NB Center model.

There is a slim chrome moulding trim that runs down the side of the car that separates the 2 colors.

I hope Brooklin decides to add this very important moulding to their model.

@ben-lampson, you raise an interesting point. Apparently some had a chrome strip and others didn't. On some of the ones that had it, it doesn't seem to go all they way. The factory literature doesn't show pics of any two tones and the mono-tone cars didn't seem to have it at all. I wondering, since it was 1946 and they were just ramping up on civilian car production, if they put them on when they had them. It seems they were on all the '47-48 cars.

Ultimately, it will get down to what's on the car at the NB Center. I think the third picture is that car.

@jkuvakas        John, I like your reasoning.  The auto plants did not just shut down in early 1942;  they were converted into producing war materials.  I have read that Packard moved some of their stamping machines into open areas and later found they had been ruined by the weather.  I also have read that some cars were produced and sold without regular bumpers, replacing them with wooden beams and promising later delivery.  My dad bought a new '46 Ford and it was a honey;  it stayed in the family for many years, as my grandmother liked to be driven in its back seat.   All in all, I think car-hungry buyers would not have postponed purchase because of some missing chrome.

@ben-lampson Here is the 1948 Chevrolet Fleetline. There is a slim chrome moulding trim that runs down the side of the car that separates the 2 colors as the Pontiac. My chevy is two tone Green that will be great aside the Pontiac i think?

Here's a helpful note from Ray P, "Hi John, Let me either clear up the situation with the Brooklin 1946 Pontiac or muddy it up more LOL

.
The reason there are minor differences between photos of various 1946 Pontiacs, is that there are two different models, each year, 1941 to 1948. The smaller Pontiac appears to be the one in the Heritage Center, belonging to Mr. Bulgari, and produced by Brooklin. This Pontiac is called the Model LA Torpedo, and is the same body as used on the Chevrolet Fleetline Aerosedan and the smaller Oldsmobile Special 66 & 68 models. The car is on a 119" wheelbase, and the lines on the front and rear fenders are painted, without chrome strips. I think the two tone paint is lacking the divider molding. It uses smaller 6x6:00 tires. These Pontiacs are called Sedan Coupes.

The other 1946 Pontiac (not being made by Brooklin) is called a Model LB Streamliner Sedan Coupe, and uses the bigger body, as used on the Oldssmobile 76 & 78, Buick Special & Century, and Cadillac 61. This car is on a 122" wheelbase, and uses 6x6:50 tires. The lines along both fenders are filled with chrome strips, and I believe this model has the chrome molding dividing the two-tone paint.

I hope this makes things a little clearer. There is a lot of guessing on the forum and sometimes it is like a runaway train. I don't profess to know a lot about cars, but sometimes I can help with information. Best regards, Ray Paszkiewicz, Jr."

Wow!!! So much info in just a few paragraphs....he answered our question and more!

I did not know there were 2 different body styles and lengths for each year.

Please thank Ray for me John, thank you.

Does anyone that went to the NB Center in Allentown, PA have a close up pic of the 1:1 Pontiac?

@michel-lemieux

Thanks for sharing that michel....I hear that is a very rare and VHTF MOC.

Although not a two-tone, the chrome moulding strip is also on the Goldvarg 1950 Chevy Fleetline fastback.

Here's the NB Center car and it has the dividing chrome strip. As I recell there was a contest to see which forthcoming model would get the "NBC" detail treatment - can't remember if I voted for this one but I think I did.
