Man, I wish I could do some 'dumpster diving'! 😥Â
I'm no expert and have never seen the two cars in person but the shape of the BRK Pontiac so far reminds me a bit the MCUSA 1948 Chevrolet Fleetline.

Yup, they shared the same shape because.....
Chevrolet=General Motors
Pontiac=General Motors
Me too, Ben. Must have for a Brooklin Model fan.
@ben-lampson, you raise an interesting point. Apparently some had a chrome strip and others didn't. On some of the ones that had it, it doesn't seem to go all they way. The factory literature doesn't show pics of any two tones and the mono-tone cars didn't seem to have it at all. I wondering, since it was 1946 and they were just ramping up on civilian car production, if they put them on when they had them. It seems they were on all the '47-48 cars.Â
Ultimately, it will get down to what's on the car at the NB Center. I think the third picture is that car. Â

@jkuvakas    John, I like your reasoning. The auto plants did not just shut down in early 1942; they were converted into producing war materials. I have read that Packard moved some of their stamping machines into open areas and later found they had been ruined by the weather. I also have read that some cars were produced and sold without regular bumpers, replacing them with wooden beams and promising later delivery. My dad bought a new '46 Ford and it was a honey; it stayed in the family for many years, as my grandmother liked to be driven in its back seat.  All in all, I think car-hungry buyers would not have postponed purchase because of some missing chrome. Â
@ben-lampson Here is the 1948 Chevrolet Fleetline. There is a slim chrome moulding trim that runs down the side of the car that separates the 2 colors as the Pontiac. My chevy is two tone Green that will be great aside the Pontiac i think?
Here's a helpful note from Ray P, "Hi John, Let me either clear up the situation with the Brooklin 1946 Pontiac or muddy it up more LOL

Wow!!! So much info in just a few paragraphs....he answered our question and more!
I did not know there were 2 different body styles and lengths for each year.
Please thank Ray for me John, thank you.
Does anyone that went to the NB Center in Allentown, PA have a close up pic of the 1:1 Pontiac?
Thanks for sharing that michel....I hear that is a very rare and VHTF MOC.
Although not a two-tone, the chrome moulding strip is also on the Goldvarg 1950 Chevy Fleetline fastback.
