This post in my Brooklin in Illinois series features the 1940 Nash Ambassador Eight Convertible in Romany Red and a Black top (BML 31x). This year marks the 80th anniversary of the end of WW2, and I created pictures with a WW2 theme.
The first photo shows the Poplar Grove Vintage Wings & Wheels Museum in northern Illinois. The airplane is a 1/48 scale diecast F4F Wildcat with its markings representing the one flown by Lt. Edward O'Hare, when he won the Medal of Honor in 1942. For those who may not know, O'Hare Airport in Chicago is named for this person.
The second and third photos show one of the murals painted on exterior walls in Pontiac, Illinois. It represents the type of advertising from that era.

beautiful presentation Ed, well done.
Sadly this generation Nash is underrated and discounted. Great pics!

Beautiful images of this gorgeous '40's Nash ! I have seen Butch O'Hare's Wildcat displayed at his namesake airport here in Chicago.
Very nice. A beautiful model and awesome backgrounds.

The Wildcat was made by Carousel1 about 15-20 years ago. In recent years Hobby Master has been making 1/48 scale Wildcat models as part of their 1/48 scale series. There was a third company that also made the Wildcat, Armour, later acquired by Franklin Mint. Of the three companies only Hobby Master is still around, and they make lots of airplanes, in scales of 1/72, 1/48, and 1/32. I hope my answer was not too long. I can talk about airplanes like many here can talk about cars.
