This next post in my Brooklin in Illinois series features the 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner 383 in Rallye Green with Mag 500 wheels produced for ELMo Models (BRK243 / ELMo No.5). This specific color and wheel combination is a Limited Edition, number 28 of 35. I took the background photo at the Illinois Railway Museum in Union, Illinois. It shows the first unit of a General Electric gas turbine electric locomotive built for the Union Pacific railroad. Unlike today's diesel-electric locomotives, the turbine, rather than a diesel engine, drove a generator to supply electricity to the electric motors mounted on the axles.

Another winning model, setup, and photo, Ed!
That 10,000hp turbine engine is very cool! I had to look it up! https://www.irm.org/player/up18/
@karl I am not sure “cool” is the best description with all the hot exhaust it produces. There are some interesting YouTube videos about that locomotive.

@karl Thanks for providing that link in your response. It provides a lot of interesting technical and historical information about the locomotive.

Very nice image of the Brooklin replica ! I am glad the powerful gas-turbine Union Pacfic locomotive has been preserved at the Union, IL museum.
Cool photo amalgamation Mike. Love the Road Runner and love the Union Pacific Loco!
Very cool shot. I just took photos of my Road Runner, it's a nice model.

...that's what's known as a "good composition." Nicely done Ed, nicely done! 😎
