Yes I received the email also. Does that mean, if you want to change the four tyres on two models that i will receive in two sending? Sorry, if i did not understood well.
If I read this correctly, it appears that it has now become very expensive to get replacement parts. Michel, six parts would cost, AT A MINIMUM 12 +9 +5 =26 pounds (assuming 5 for shipping). In Canadian dollars that would be $46.80. No longer worth it unless you were dealing with a new high priced Brooklin model. I remember when replacement parts were free, then a small fee was charged and now it has become a business line.
Michel, your 8 tires would probably set you back $82 Canadian at a minimum (2 orders). I call this a good way to discourage customers.
I for one find this change quite disappointing. I have used this service in the past and appreciated the reasonable charges and postage they previously applied. That service set Brooklin apart from virtually all other model makers.

Unfortunately, it is hard to see a sweet deal go away, and that was a sweet deal.
In the past you could call Brooklin for a spare part or 2, and get them free, and most of the time with free shipping.
Covid has really put companies in a bad financial position, and they have to find ways to make up for losses.
We can't blame them.
I would rather pay a little more for a Brooklin model and pay more for parts than see Brooklin fold because they didn't want to charge for spare parts.
In an other way i think the new BRK's made have less parts appart in a bag or don't have comparatively at all than the older models and are more and more ameliorate. They are now near at the level than the MCUSA models. I have never had need to order parts for my MCUSA models. Parts was on the model and stay there.

Less than that - 12 is the minimum. So it would be 9 + 5 = 14 GBP (and over the minimum so you are OK)! Seems very reasonable to me now that BREXIT has really hit them hard. No one else has a spare parts policy, especially for obsolete items if they have them!
The Brooklin text states " Minimum charge of £12.00 plus parts and postage." The key word here is "plus" . I read this to say 12 GBP plus the cost of the parts and postage, thus 12 +9+5=26 GBP. This makes sense to me if the 12 GBP is meant to cover the labour costs to fill the order, the 9 GBP for the cost of 6 parts and the 5 GBP to ship. I hope your interpretation Karl is right but maybe further clarification is needed.
@kenspear, I believe the email is trying to say there will be a minimum charge of £12, not an additional charge of £12. In other words, if you order £8 of parts, the total charge for your parts will be £12, not £8.

I'll try to get some clarity tomorrow.

Before reading this post, earlier today I wrote to Brooklin looking for a windshield wiper for my red 57 Chevrolet four door hardtop. The wiper was missing when I received the model three months ago and I notified Bob Hooper immediately. Bob said that he would contact the distributer about a replacement and I am still waiting. My patience had just run out which is why I decided to go to Brooklin directly. Believe me if I have to pay for this part I'm going to be one very unhappy guy. This isn't the first time a part has been missing from the new and more detailed Brooklins as a door handle was missing from the Town and Country sedan. In the past I have also received Brooklins with white wall tires where the tires were split. I have been collecting Brooklin models since the beginning and have every regular issue plus many specials. I'm waiting to see how this turns out and whether I will continue to be a Brooklin collector.
Let's not miss the most important aspect to this engrossing problem: What has happened to Amanda? For years I have e-mailed Brooklin with an "att. Amanda" note attached and I got that windshield wiper, missing taillight, or whatever, often with a little note attached. Is she no longer the face of BRK for us old-timers???
