Can any one inform me about 1951 to 1953 and any 1955

Pontiacs made lately? Also would a red 1950 Pontiac convertible (Motor City) be easy to locate? Also, how
about a green '49 Buick Roadmaster Convertible (also
by Motor City)?

I suggest you find/purchase/borrow a copy of Jerry Rettig's fine work,

AMERICAN WHEELS. My copy was printed in 2008. Jerry is often a part of Forum 43 and very helpful. The Pontiac section is over a full page of models. Sometimes we overlook fine older versions. Happy hunting!

David, I certainly appreciate the information you sent me and am confident it will help me do even more interesting hunting
yet, however I will need further information: how can I get in touch with him?

Here's a inexpensive diecast 1949 Buick convertible

Yellow, not your desired green. Ignore the sedan which was a creation of mine. These are Motor Max items.

Not new models but older resin Record models of '51-'52 Pontiacs

The wagon was a custom of mine, the others are resin Record models with cast base plates. Not sure when these were produced but some might turn up on Ebay from time to time.

John, '51/'52 Pontiacs aretrue beauties. Thanks a lot for posting these pictures. They are certainly lovely, especially the green/white hardtop and the blue convertible. They would
both be a beautiful addition to my white/red 1950 hardtop
by Motor City!

I have the same convertible in Gala Green, which is my favorite '49 Buick color. How ever,I was thinking of the green one by Motor City (in Allendale Green, which looks
like Christmas Green)!

Just turn to google with name and title. Several sources (including

Forum 43) quickly show up. Happy hunting!

Thanks, Record also did a series of 1951-52 Chevys.

Yes, but I now have a modern copy of a 1952 Chevrolet (by Neo), but

I don't know of any 1951/1952 Pontiac made lately, and this
is the sense of my question!

Alex, the answer is no, sadly. Get Rettig's book, you'll be glad you did!

Also, Alex, as a fan of GM models of the early '50s, you most certainly should have Randy Olson's "GM in Miniature," an excellent resource and history of GM 1:43rds from the 1920s to 1954.

Randy wasn't going to point it out, so I decided that I would. No collection of books on 1:43rds is complete without Randy's fantastic works. When can we expect the post-'54 GM edition, Randy?

I have Rettig's "American Wheels" which is a great list of models produced up to its publication date, but Randy's books are superior and are must-haves.

That's certainly interesting information, Rick. But I have never seen such a publication, though! Where and how can I either find it or get in touch with him?

The Ford and GM books by Randall Olson are currently shown as available on Amazon, Alex. You should grab them while you can.

Rick
