Some years ago U.S.Model Mint issued a nice ‘49 Willys Overland 2wd wagon from which Brooklin’s ‘52 Willys 4wd wagon was developed. These are among my favorite cars both full size and in 1:43.

David, here’s the Rural produced in Argentina long after production ceased in the U.S. Brooke Steven’s, who designed the original Willys wagon in 1946, also designed the revised front clip on the Rural Willys which was later produced under the Ford nameplate.
1:43 is by White Box.

This may be a repeat but I have always found the Willys, Kaiser, Jeep, AMC, Renault connections in Argentina quite interesting. In the 1970s and later they did a restyle and re-engining of the AMC Rambler American and created the "Argentine national car", the IKA Torino. Here are versions, the hardtop, 4 door sedan and convertible all from different years with front and rear minor restyling. Shown with the original base car the circa 1969 Rambler American in blue. The Torino got an interesting single overhead cam straight six in various displacement from 3.0 liter and up.

Thank you for your good pictures and information, John. As I have been digging a little into Kaiser in Argentina, I found mentions of this IKA Rambler being built there later. Your research and fine models make it click together. Well done! David H
