grey 1930 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 4th Series GS Spider with enveloping front wings.

Listed, at a Bonhams auction at Retromobile 2010, as lost between 1938 and 1987, the Castagna body might not be original?  As of the write-up they had not confirmed that Castagna had done the body.  Compared to other Alfas, 1930 does seem a bit early for those aero teardrop fenders.

Here is a 1/43 Le Mans timeline via Ixo and Starter:

1931:

Ixo Alfa 8C 1931
Starter Alfa Le Mans 1931

1932:

Starter Alfa Le Mans 1932

1933:

Alfa 1933 Le Mans 2x 2
Alfa 1933 Le Mans 2x

1934:

Ixo Alfa 8C 1934

Did rule changes get implemented so that the aero fenders were no longer allowed?

Were they too heavy and lost out to a much smaller design?

Will AI answer this question for us? 🤨
