The Series 1 was designed by Carroll Shelby from the ground up, with a 4-liter 320 hp V8 from the Olds Aurora. The original Series 1 cars were sold as 1999 models; only 249 were built. I bought this Kyosho from Shelby's tent at the 2000 USGP at Indy, 22 years ago this month.
