After a converted Type 57 chassis was built, six Type 101 chassis were made in 1951-52, plus two more converted Type 57s. This was Bugatti's swan song (not counting the Virgil Exner design of 1965 on Chassis 101506) until the name was revived in the late 1980s with the EB110. Ixo's model is Chassis 57454, presently in the former Schumpf collection. Matrix has done two other 101s, one of which is the Exner car.
