Sticking with the Japanese roadsters and GTs, here's the Model Pet #34 1966 Honda S800 Sports. The real car had a high-revving 791cc engine and was quite peppy due to its low weight. This model was made from 1967 to perhaps 1970. Model Pet, like Cherryca Phenix, took a different approach to chrome trim. Instead of masking a painted casting and painting silver, instead they plated the entire casting, then masked and painted the body color. As other makers began using chromed plastic bumpers and grilles, this method died out.

Thanks for the information about chroming before body painting Harv. I had forgotten this. I have several Sakura models that used the same method.
