Following my gaggle of MGBs I thought I would post some other post-MGB cars the wear the octagon, though many consider anything not made in Abingdon as "not a real MG". Eagle's Race made a nice replica of the 1995 MGF 1.8L mid-engined 2-seater (No. 1070). Designed by the Rover Group, it was brought to market after the BMW takeover, and continued until 2002 two years after BMW bowed out. From there it was modified as the MG TF (a nod to the famous T-series MG TF from the 1950s) but I have not seen a model of this version. More than 77,000 MGFs were built, a pretty good total considering it was up against the BMW Z3 and Miata.
Saw a 1:1 version of one of these on Saturday at the 44th annual All British Field Meet in Portland Oregon. RHD and registered in Oregon. I guess only certain states you can get away with this non EPA and NHTSA approved car. MG was the featured marque this year so we had a great variation.

Hi Harv,
I saw the full sized cars on several trips to Britain and once on Grand Cayman. As a Miata owner, I was quite interested in it and can see the popularity.
Eagle's Race did a top up variation, also in red . Motormax also did it and a really inexpensive one was done by New Ray. (I paid one dollar for mine.)
I've only seen colours other than red in 1/18 scale versions.

I thought it was a 25 year rule in the US, so the MGF is old enough now.

I believe that is true with the exception of California that is relentless in keeping "grey market" cars out and still visually inspects and emission tests cars back to 1976 model year.
