Has anyone had any experiences good or bad with diecastdirect? I am considering buying a model not available elsewhere .This will be my first experience with them. They asked me something that I consider unusual.Because this is my first purchase from them (it is an international purchase), they are refusing to accept Visa and will accept PayPal only. Also, when I first tried to purchase online, they quoted minimum shipping charge $19.95and asked me to agree to allow them to charge any additional shipping charges to my credit card.This was before I received an email from them stating that 1st time purchases require PayPal only. Thanks.

I haven't had any problem with them in the past, but I haven't ordered anything from them in about 5 years though so some of their policies may have changed since then. The fact you're a buyer outside the US may be the reason for the additonal shipping charges over the quoted shipping of $19.95. I don't remember if my first order required me to use paypal or not, I always used a credit/debit card without any problems.

I can't comment on overseas purchases. However, if ordering more than one item, take care to state you want all items shipped together. I think their warehouse space may be limited, so they order from distributors as needed even though they may show an item in stock. So you might see items trickle in with a shipping charge on each otherwise. Note also, they charge a restock fee if you send an undamaged item back.

Most of my transactions are pretty good but they will sometimes advertise an item without having it in stock. I can understand this happening from time to time but it would be nice to be informed of that and an approximate date one might expect shipment. I currently have an order I placed on 10/24/20 and no communication whatsoever.

@bob-jackman A while back that happened to me. I though, being so long and seeing the model as sold out elsewhere, that it had been cancelled. Then it showed up aer I had found another. That's how I learned about a) additional postage and b) restock fee. Now I call first and on the order comments section make clear about shipping all together. But they are good folks to deal with once you learn these things.
