Famous racing driver Vic Elford passed on March 13. He raced in sports cars primarily, but even had drives in F1 and NASCAR. His wins included the Monte Carlo rally, Daytona, Nurburgring, the Targa Florio, and two class wins at Le Mans. Most of the time he drove for Porsche, but he also spent time behind the wheels of Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Chaparral, and the Shadow Can-Am car. He was 86.

I haven't made photos of all his drives in my collection, but here are a few. The 917/10 was purchased directly from him a few years ago.

I met Vic Elford at Sebring in the paddock many years ago. I found him interesting and friendly and a very good racer, especially in sports cars. Unfortunately, he died on my birthday, but after a great and interesting life, he will be long remembered. This is a wonderful selection of cars that he raced Harv. A nice tribute.

Here is how I remember him.
