Here's a WW2 era Jeep by Cararama.
I was just watching the Knoxville parade. It kicked off with the indoctrination of new recruits into the US Space Force. Naturally, I had to watch the groups of car clubs taking part and spotted a friend of mine with his grandson in his Model A roadster.
And I always think of my uncles flying over North Africa, Germany, and Italy. Sometimes Vesuvian ash was almost as annoying as German planes!
Just a moment of good feelings, 1/43 style, as we remember those who served.
Jeep on left by "h" (Hongwell/Cararama)
Jeep with figures on right by Revell.
Standing figures by Arttista.
August 15, 1945, I was a kid at my Grandmother's house when the horns started blowing and someone tied down the whistle at the steam laundry. People were cheering and hugging in the streets. Mama cried and talked about her youngest, my uncle, safe now and serving in the occupation of Germany. Today we call it V-J Day.
