Hi guys, I didn’t know that this Oldsmobile existed. I got it for decent price and it immediately when through an overhaul. The scale is very good. I am attaching photos of the original and the revised one. Also, I shot the revised one next to the Brooklin 65 Impala. I think they look good together. IMO Thanks
Looks good (nice detail)! Now it's a scale replica and not a toy; Dinky exhibited tooling work that was unusually far above average for its day.
You have done a wonderful job on this Hong Kong Dinky Toy, Chavy.
When introduced back in 1968, this series of six, including the Oldsmobile, were advertised as being exactly 1/42 scale. For 1968, they were really well designed with cast body and opening hood and trunk.
I think that Universal Toys of Hong Kong were commissioned by Dinky Toys to design and produce these models.
WOW! That's awesome-excellent work.

These Hong Kong Dinky Toys were originally supposed to be Spot-On's which is why they are 1/42 scale. An article on them is in preparation for MAR Online.
At first, I was not sure where the Dinky Olds went, but then I enlarged the photos to see it transformed! Remarkable job, Chazy! 😎
@karl Thanks for the comments and to all the others who have commented as well. Regards
Wow, a great job. I also did not know this Dinky existed. Will have to keep an eye out for one.

@chazy-r Awesome job! A really unbelieavable transformation. I've got one of those Oldsmobiles on my shelf (purchased "new" in 1968); are you ready to another one ? 😀 😀

@skip Hi Skip, Yrs, it was fun doing this Olds. Send me an email to rosechuck39@gmail.com and we can talk further. Thanks, Chuck
Btw I sealed the hood and trunk. If you open the hood, nothing to see there.
GREAT WORK! You've got the touch! And yes, I think it sits well next to the '65 Chevy.

@skip Mint Boxed! Nooooo! 😥
Agree, if playworn and chipped a good candidate for restoration and upgrade.

@john-quilter Yes Skip, never repaint an original MB Dinky. You should send it to me where it will be in safe hands.
