Neo's treatment of this 1960 Plymouth Fury is first rate (if you can live with oversized headlights). Those rear "stabilizers" (as Plymouth called them) look fantastic, and yes, they were taller than Cadillac's fins. But what REALLY impressed me is that Neo replicated that "big rear window" (or "Ski-Hi" window) correctly.
I believe on 2-dr Fury trim, this was the only rear window available but for 2-dr HT Belvederes, the "big window" was optional. Glad to see Neo got it right! 😏 😏
Great pictures Ben.Have the model and it is nice but I never cared for the 60 Plymouth and those fins.
I loved them, but as you know.... I'm in the minority as Plymouth's fins for 1960 were a design failure. The public viewed the cars as "dated," consequently sales suffered.
This Plymouth is another one well done by NEO; no banana issues. I have this one in HT and convertible in spite of my not being a big fan of the styling. I do like it for what it represents in automotive styling history though and they look great on display.
Terrific 1/43 Plymouth in model form ! I like the full-size '60 Plymouth, too and I happily have two of SunStar's 1/18 versions. A 1/43 version like this beauty would be a fine addition.
Ben and all, Great PICS and more than a few memories. Here is a pic of some fins, the beginning and the biggest, that I just learned from this post. Need to redo one of the labels. The 1960 Plymouth Fury has not just more, but the BIGGEST Fins.
I have and like this model too, but the enormous headlights do detract from it. I've tried to replace with a smaller set but the 60 Plymouth headlights do look a bit different to many twin designs. Plus unfortunately there's a huge gap in the grille when you remove them.
