I needed a case to display cars that are not currently on my train layout. I found a very nice case from Carney Plastics at their eBay store. I ordered one for 1:18 cars because it allows me to display about 27 1:43 cars in quarter view. Its 3 shelves are mirror backed, and cost $60. plus shipping. Website is http://www.carneyplastics.com

I just bought 2 of there cases for my 1:64 cars and they are great cases. I bought the large compartment size I think for about $64.00 and change plus shipping of coarse. I worry about them yellowing with time but I have them on the wall away from sunlight so hopefully they will stay clear for along time. I could not build them myself for that price or do as nice a job. I did not see any for 1:43 models. Maybe I will send them a email and ask about it. I could use one to go with what I already have. Carney/Giovanni cases
I have about 8 of their cases for 1:43, the oldest being 8-9 years old. I don't know if it's enough to start decoloration, but mine all look as good as new.

Max P. That is good to know. Thank You !
I buy the Giovanni Plastics 1:18 cases for my 1:43's
Each of the the six compartments hold five or six models. I have 20 cases mounted on the walls of my den, no signs of yellowing after at least 10 years.

I have some Giovanni and Carney cases that are at least 14 years old and they look as good as new. I house my 1/18 scale cars in my finished off garage which is not airconditioned while my 1/24 and 1/43 cars are in the house and I can't see any difference as they all look brand new. Giovanni was acquired by Carney within the past year. They make a variety of sizes to accomodate all scales or you can buy larger scale cases and display many more smaller scale cars. I have experimented with various ways of displaying my cars and these cases are the best for keeping the cars clean and for displaying the most cars in the least amount of space.

Well sounds like I have nothing to worry about and that is good news. I only have the 2 1:64 cases right now but I started buying 1:24 cars last week and the wheels are already turning if you know what I mean. I have cases for some of my 1:43s but not enough space for all of them. I have alot of my 1:43s and 1:64 cars boxed up and in storage. There is no way I can display them all. I have no idea why I am even buying the 1:24s. I must have rocks for brains. But I figure stored models are better then no models. And you can help me out agreeing to that statement. My 1:64 cases are high up on my bedroom walls HA HA ! you can not really see the top ones very well, but that is the best I could do. I am going to have to be content to display only a limited number of cars and store the rest until I move into a bigger house. But these cases do help. Thank you all for the information about these cases. RANDY B.
For a great case for 1/43rd scale, check out GEMO display cases
I have one that holds about 120 Brooklins. Well built, easily assempled as it comes with a CD an explicit directions by the designer and is top quality. Not cheap but well worth it. I'm due for another one 8 Brooklins from now which means next February 24, 2009!
