Good looking shelves! But using the display cases would probably limit you to two models for each shelf. I prefer enclosed shelving, but over the years I have added several different styles; consistency is not one of my strong points. House and yard sales sometimes provide smaller units, such as these:
But rarely do we find matching pairs. At least the models stay out of most of the dust.
Here is one of my professional shelving units for 1/43 models, complete with hinged fronts:
This set has 21 divisions, each large enough for two 1/43 models. The shelving is also deep enough to allow a slight angle for improved display. Companies that make such shelving units are fairly common. I can't find the paperwork on this unit; it was purchased quite a few years ago and I don't remember the company name.
Isn't it great to have a problem of displaying our "too many" 1/43 models? Enjoy! David H
@d-m-holcombe Great shelves and cases David, I like the shelving diversity, love your Packard's collection! I am familiar with the acrylic cases, I just don have much wall to mount them. The FM shelf is kind of accent shelf in the home office, my main focus remains 1/24 but I liked the richness of the shelf itself.
The other 2 shelfs in the same room are already quite an irritation to my wife ...
The vast majority of the collection is still in the basement.
