Good to know. I was going to get an extra one to convert into a four door hardtop but have decided the project would be easier to complete with a Yatming convertible which is on order (and much cheaper).

I was hoping to change an interior color.
Elmers has been available in a clear formula for a few years now.
But have you ever then tried to re attach them?
....I'm with those who leave them attached. However, some of the (IMNSHO) cheesy attempts to dress up the surface of the base with RED brick (?) patterns clashes so badly with some car colors that I've taken to the application of coordinating color construction paper (Michael's has a lovely assortment of expensive looking, color saturated papers btw). Taking the model off presents it's own set of problems based on the need to grip some part of the car, but nothing at all like re attaching them and finding the itty bitty body holes for the screws.
It's unclear to me why anyone would want or need to detach the cars permanently from their base, anyways. They're small, they're secure, and they provide protection along with their clear top.
I think the details are attached after the chassis is on the base.
The screw holes could be marked with paint/paint marker in a bright color. Just a dab.
