Does anyone follow the TV programme Chasing Classic Cars?

I found this a few months ago when I went over to the Dark Side and invested in Sky TV. I had Freesat before with 140 channels of rubbish...now I have 240 channels of rubbish with the odd gem, of which this is one. Wayne Carini, a little guy with a huge moustache, is never less than very interesting with a very broad interest in all classics from a 3 wheeler Davis to a 1957 Packard Country Sedan like the one I made last year. I've also found his website - F40 Motorsports. This is worth a look as well.

We all watch it! One of the Discovery channels changed its name to Velocity.

I had sent several letters to Discovery asking for you guys to get the program in the UK and discussed it with Wayne Carini. After I found out that it was now available in the UK, I found none of our regulars in the UK were taking those channels. Glad to see you are and enjoying it.

One of the best and most interesting shows on TV - and as John pointed out, Wayne appears to be in loves with everything from exotic sports cars to hot rods! I loved the one where he sold his chopped 1953 Studebaker coupe at auction. Somebody got a great deal on a really neat car!

I tape every new episode without fail. That way I can speed through the commercials. It's one of my favorite shows.

Moi aussi! I DVR every episode, so I can watch them in 'marathon' fashion.

Do you prefer "Dancing with the Stars"?

That's exactly why I record the shows. Many of us work. By recording, you can watch at your leisure

I record the episodes as often they are on in the wee small hours and I don't tend to work then.

I just watched a re-run that I have seen before, featuring a big Dodge Power-wagon (with an unbelievable leather interior), plus a magnificent brass Renault from 1908. Even the second time around, I enjoyed the show. In contrast, yesterday I watched a taped "One of a Kind," featuring the Duesenberg Special (Mormon Meteor). While I have this car in 1:43, the show was a big disappointment; too much repetition of too few photos, little indepth history, and brief video illustration the was shown again and again. I don't recommend "One of a Kind" unless you have it recorded and know how to use your fast advance.

On the other hand, it was interesting to see the results of the most recent restoration of this Duesenberg.

I haven't seen that one. I suspect we get the old shows here rather like you get the old Top Gear programmes there. I enjoyed the one with the auction from the 1957 museum collection when Wayne Carini bought the Packard and the Ford wagons. I notice the Ford is for sale on his website now.

I have watched that one. It was jaw-dropping the amount of $$ put into a 100 point rotisserie meticulous restoration and enhancement of a 1968ish....Dodge Power Wagon pickup.. As if.

Oh well, just goes to show what great lengths folks will go to for something they are passionate about.
