PIC: Rick, you didn't see the front end of that thing. I think that it might actually be uglier...
than the first car! At least the first car has (had) character. The second car is somehow both terribly ugly and devoid of personality.
Yuck!
Can't agree Rick! The Citroen Ami 6 is a design classic.
OK, it may look odd to most people but it was a fabulous little car and the best selling car in France at one stage. Using a 2CV chassis with a 602cc engine it was extremely comfortable, would carry four people and their luggage and cruise all day flat out at 70mph, doing 40+ to the gallon. The Ami 8 that replaced it was just as good, although being slightly toned down in looks perhaps it lost something. The Ami Super used the 1015cc GS engine and it went like a pocket rocket, although unfortunately the gearlever would disappear up your trouser leg if you jumped into the car too quickly...not the sort of thing you needed for a traditional Le Mans start.
I feel sorry for it. However, to make a car that looks like this takes a peculiar amount of talent. I wonder if people drive them for a bet?
Bet you never thought the string would be this long, nor go this way Al! Just goes to show what a disparate bunch we all are!!
Rodius, learned something new, I had never heard of the Rodius until the recent posts and a Google search. If we're talking ugly though lets not forget The Pontiac Aztek. The most horrible example of automobile styling of all time! I have a recurring nightmare where I wake up in the morning and find one in my garage and think I must have gotten really drunk the night before and brought one home! John k. are you inferring that the Citroen Ami is ugly, or only relatively ugly?
You lost me, John. How did we get to Citroen Amis? I see no reference to them in the postings. Were they linked to the Rodius somehow?
Obviously, I know nothing about this car! I had never even heard of it before.
And regarding the Pontiac Aztek: Pontiac finally killed it after forcing their zone
reps to drive it in order to get it out on the street where people could see it.
The reps raised such a howl that even Pontiac finally got the message.
Rick
Yep, from TVR to Rodius to Citroen to Aztek in 15 steps!
Really, who makes this thing? Is Rodius a car company, or a brand within a corporation? Who's the parent company?
I could google it, but I'm afraid more pics would appear. Is it Dutch? French?
AHA!! So it's the same car, then. Where did "Rodius" come from?
Yes, but isn't it great?
Abso-freakin'-lutely! I love it. That's why I love the Forum!
Reminds me of a wave at a baseball stadium!
John K posted a pic of the Ami 6. He always did know a beautiful car when he saw one
What does the Aztek look like? Are they still made...
or where they wiped out by SEAT & Pegaso? Will leave you to work this link out!
