The range of GFCC models all use a generic chrome wheel.  I was able to improve this 1954 Eldorado by fitting some BBR wire wheels (their number BBR R-42) since all Eldorados came with wires from new.  I removed the existing GFCC wheels, created new axles, with paper clip wire and electrical wire insulation to take up space in the base plate, then removed the BBR three eared knock offs, drilled holes in the hubs and fitted these wheels.  The Cadillac had a chrome ring around the center so this was replicated with #2 chrome washers.    The other enhancement was the addition of a removable hard top boot that all Eldos had.   This was created from sheet lead painted to match and allows display with the boot or the black top the model comes with.

Very impressive John. Those BBR wheels make an incredible difference to how this model looks. Thanks for sharing.

Great job John Q. I didn't add this model to my collection because I had the MOC in this color. Thinking about it now, I think I made a mistake.

Well done, John!  Wheels are MUCH better, the boot really helps, and I like the figures, too.   Keep 'em coming!
