The automotive scene over the years has definitely contained a large number of personalities ! That is an aspect that is over and above the sensational (or even very mundane) automobiles or model replicas themselves.

@michaeldetorrice I quite agree Mike, and as often as not the chiefs of the mundane are the most colourful of all: Billy Durant, Henry Ford and so forth.

A delightful snippet on Harley Earl. Every item of clothing he bought, he bought two of: one sent to his home, the other to his office. and every afternoon, he would have a quick scrub and change into fresh, identical clothes to that morning's. Rendering the colourful so invisible as to not even be mundane!

what a story! You've painted the picture beautifully Charles. And then for us to be able to acquire a scale model representation of the car really brings it all to life. Thank you, a great post
