When I started myself getting acquainted with all the models that Brooklin offered. I was 1st impressed with the selections from the 30s, and that was followed shortly by my interest in the Packard models that were made. Since just after the Pierce-Arrow, the Packard brand is my next favorite make. My list of wants was growing rather quickly.
It had only been just about 30 days since my 1st Brooklin model, and as I quite frequently do, I was searching eBay for something-who knows what now, I came across an extremely interesting Packard model. Now my available info was limited, let's just say that I knew very little about what Brooklin had available, and I wasn't yet aware of where I could find anything useful. I was skeptical about this one, from the photos it looked like it could be a Brooklin model, but I couldn't find any worthwhile facts to back it up-I had to go by the eBay listing on its own.
I took a chance on a bid, and for whatever reason as I sometimes do, I decided I needed to have this model. A Packard, and one of my favorite body styles and years led me to make sure this was going to be mine-it actually turned out fairly well-much cheaper than it could have been.
When it arrived, I was mystified by the overall look, but also disappointed. The model was missing the hood ornament-a fact I had missed in the auction listing. I reached out to the D4C Forum 43 folks for guidance and was immediately directed to Brooklin's Spare Parts program. A quick email to Amanda, and the part was on the way. When it arrived, the model was whole once again, and boy was it special.
A few years later, I have learned that this model was crafted by John Roberts, and is the 1st of several I have by him.

Great color choice, John. And I can see those John Roberts touches all over it. You have a prize! My version is a humdrum dark blue, but it's one of my favorite Packards.
This is one of my favorites in your collection, John. As David, i have the standard model.
