Here's an outstanding "Land Barge" from the 70s. When I was a teenager these cars and the other GM equivalents were everywhere. Having a few of these in the family over the years, I've had many opportunities to be cruising in one of these (however, it was usually in the back seat).
When I started collecting this scale, it wasn't until 2017 that I really started paying attention to the higher end of white metal models. My model budget wouldn't really allow that luxury. Once I made that 1st purchase and held that gem in my hands, the rest just followed one (or so) at a time. In 2019, having discovered the website Route 66 Models a couple of years earlier, I came across this model. The wire wheels sold me, and I bought what turned out to be Buz's last one. I have a lot of "favorites" in my collection, this is another one of those.
1972 Buick Electra 225 Hardtop Sedan in Black w/a Black "Vinyl" top and those wire wheels. LE #05 of 30 from WMCE.

My favorite Buicks are those (any of them) from 1970-1972. From '73 to '76, they're interesting but the larger bumpers take away from the class and elegance the earlier years had.

I had the brown version of this model 20 years ago. They were really detailed and well done for the time.
@jack-dodds I too had a friend who had a Centurian convertible with the parade boot. Beautiful car fully loaded with every option available at the time.
@bob-jackman Yes, my friend's Buick had that black parade "boot" as well; I had forgotten about that detail! He bought the car in 1974; I found it for him at the Pontiac/Buick/GMC dealer.......the sticker price was $3300! Of course he now wishes he hadn't sold it after a few years.....traded it in on a new '78 Toyota Corolla. Gas price crisis and his first marriage were factors.....neither lasted.....but the Corolla went on for many years!
