I picked this one up a few months ago, not sure who crafted it, but I was intrigued by the overall look. To my untrained eye, the craftsman did an excellent job, and I am very pleased with the result. A very simple and high-powered sleeper for 1949.

This is a very attractive remodelling, John.
It looks great and you are happy with it. That's what counts ..... plus, it is an Oldsmobile !
Could this be a Tron built kit?
Could this be a Tron built kit?
Well here's a Tron built kit along with a Dark Horse resin built model.  This generation of Oldsmobile club coupes were apparently popular model subjects.
I also modified these Trons into a four door sedan. Blue one, and a convertible, red one

John stated this was IPV 11 - that's a Brooklin folks! IPV 11 was a 1949 Olds CHP car. Looks like someone painted it all black and left off all the extra lights and siren. I don't have this one, but if the white parts of the doors are just decals, they might have just soaked them loose and removed them, without any extra black painting, though there is some detailing in silver. Â
@john-quilter I have both colors of the Dark Horse models and they are excellent. Too bad they didn't make a go of it.
@jcarnutz  Congrats, John - it's a fine model! I made the first bid for it at that time, but I did not continue bidding.
I wanted to add some models to my Jaguar MK VII collection - that was enough for my hobby budget for that month 😉Â
Â
@mg-harv  You are right, Harvey - the white sections on the CHP and SFPD IPVs are decals. Amanda once supplied me some to replace damaged ones.
